Joel - what are your thoughts? - General Name Discussion

I’m expecting baby #1 in [name_f]May[/name_f]. My favourite boys name is [name_m]Joel[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m] - however, DH isn’t convinced. He doesn’t think that [name_m]Joel[/name_m] is “firstborn son” enough, whatever that means. If baby is a boy, he will be the first great-grandson born on hubby’s side, the eldest son of the eldest son of the eldest son As such hubby has ideas that the name must sound “firstborn” enough!

Made me think - what kind of boy/man do you associate with the name [name_m]Joel[/name_m]? I love it’s classic yet uncommon nature, and it’s meaning. [name_m]Just[/name_m] wanted to see other’s thoughts (and hopefully convince DH it’s a valid choice!)
